Privacy notice

This website (chrisdemetriou.com) is run by Chris Demetriou, a sole trader based in Greater Manchester, UK. This notice explains what personal data I collect and how I use it.

What I collect

If you use the contact form, I collect the details you choose to provide — your name, work email, organisation, the opportunity or project title, your message, and any optional details you add (engagement type, working model, expected start date or a job-description link). If you book a call, Calendly collects the details you enter to arrange it. To protect the form from spam, it uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs a security check in your browser. I do not use analytics or advertising cookies, and I do not track your browsing.

Why I collect it

I use this information solely to read and respond to your enquiry. My lawful basis is legitimate interest — responding to a message you have chosen to send me.

Cookies and storage

The site uses only essential browser storage — to remember your light or dark theme preference and for the contact form’s security check. No analytics or advertising cookies are used.

Who I share it with

I do not sell your personal data. When you use the contact form, your submission is handled by Web3Forms (a form-delivery service) solely to email it to me, and Cloudflare Turnstile runs a spam check. If you book a call, Calendly processes your booking details and Zoom hosts the meeting. The site itself is delivered through Cloudflare and GitHub, which process limited technical data such as your IP address to serve it securely. If you follow a link to LinkedIn, its own privacy policy applies.

How long I keep it

I keep your message only as long as needed to respond and to keep a reasonable record of our correspondence, then I delete it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask me to access, correct or delete the personal data I hold about you. To do so, contact me using the details below. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
